Term 2-May 2026 Art Exploration Session- ages 4- 10yo in Torquay, Vic. (1 hour) TUESDAYS 11am-12 noon
4 Week program starting May 5th (4 weekly sessions) and ending May 26th. Classes will be held at Torquay Community House.
This term our theme is ‘Creating Art through Picture Stories.’ We have a bunch of art exploration activities for you to get messy with that link to some beautiful picture story books. The class will start with a story and an introduction to some of the art stations that are set up. Some sessions a demo will be included as well. Then kiddos are able to explore, make, create using the materials and resources provided. There will be an opportunity for kiddos to share their creations at end of the class if they would like to. Parents are encouraged to assist or watch and support their kiddos throughout the session.
We will be exploring print making practices, drawing, painting, mark making, colour mixing, watercolour, collage, movement in art, 3D art using recycled materials and modelling clay, charcoal and creating texture in our artworks.
* The aim of the sessions is to learn through experimentation and exploration. It isn’t our goal to have kiddos walk away with perfectly ‘finished’ artworks to hang on the wall. But there will be opportunities to take home artworks too.
** Pack up will occur after the hour. If families are able to stay to assist with a quick tidy up that would be appreciated.
*** Please note that your child’s spot is not secured until full payment has been made. An email will be sent out prior to the class’s start date.
This ARTClub or hub has many exciting NEW art projects and experimentation ideas for your little artist to explore! Some projects are structured ‘step-by-step’ and many are an invitation for your kiddo to explore and see ‘what happens’. Why? Because we know that learning through experimentation encourages curiosity and a love for learning. Plus we are more likely to remember it!

We aim to use materials that are low cost, and easily accessible.
Some basic starter materials that you may like to consider include:
coloured and grey lead pencils, coloured markers, permanent marker, watercolour paints, paper, watercolour or heavy duty paper appropriate for painting on), acrylic or poster paints, paint brushes, a pallet or ice cream container lid, cardboard, clay/ plasticine/ play dough / salt dough (one of these)
This monthly subscription is aimed at 4-8yo kiddos who love to explore nature, arts, crafts and have a whole lot of curiosity. This subscription is aimed at families coming together to share quality time and creative time together. Each month your little creator will get:

1 tool or resource to inspire and build curiosity
a QR code to an online ART project
Each month there will be a theme. When particular holidays fall, an extra activity will be added to celebrate the holiday (ie: Easter and Christmas). Collect the creative activity cards and build your ‘set’ as your subscription continues with new ones each month.
